How to choose the best photos for your battles
Prepare clear, comparable battle photos: framing, lighting, participant consent and uploading through the Battle Aura app.
Choose a photo that lets voters decide
Start with a recent, sharp photo of each participant. The face or style you want to compare should remain recognizable. Avoid tiny images, screenshots covered in text and edits that make someone difficult to identify. Aim for two readable presentations rather than a misleading picture designed to push voters toward a particular outcome.
For a battle between friends, ask each person to choose their own photo. If you are comparing outfits, for example, show the clothes in both pictures. A full-length picture of one participant and a close-up of the other do not give your audience the same information. Agree on the comparison before collecting the images.
Keep lighting and framing comparable
Prefer even lighting, a visible subject and a background that does not take all the attention. Check both images on a phone: a detail that looks obvious on a large screen may disappear inside a small voting card. Look for anything cut off by the crop or hidden near the edges of the card.
You do not need professional equipment. Two pictures taken in similar conditions already make a more coherent comparison. Avoid applying a strong filter to just one participant. Before launching, use the preview to check that both photos show what each person agreed to share. Good presentation makes the choice easier to understand, without deciding it for the audience.
Get consent before publishing
A photo found online or in a private conversation is not permission to use it in a battle. Every participant must agree to take part. In Battle Aura, public publication and competitive use also depend on recorded consent and photo moderation; they are not authorized simply by writing a promise in the title.
The first version uses photos, not videos uploaded by users. Prepare your image, then follow the app's crop and upload flow. If a participant declines or wants another picture, resolve that before sharing the link. Better framing can improve clarity, but it never guarantees more votes or a win.
